DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:                                 

The Department of English/Humanities at SUNY Canton seeks candidates for tenure track faculty positions in Composition beginning in the fall semester 2012.

Responsibilities include teaching a variety of writing, literature, and general education courses, both face to face and online, curriculum development, student advising, active scholarship, continuing professional development, and participation in governance.  

QUALIFICATIONS:       

 A doctorate with a specialty in composition or a related field and college teaching experience are required at the time of appointment.  Preference will be given to candidates whose areas of expertise include at least one of the following: basic writing, first year writing, the use of digital media in the humanities, ethnic literatures, and/or related areas. Additional teaching interests will be considered and should be indicated in the cover letter.
